Is there any LSP implementation for mermaid?

I know it's not necessary for diagram languages like Mermaid, but I just wanted to know. I tried to search for it, but couldn't find anything.

If there's no solution as of now, maybe I need to create one.

I've done some experimentation with a generating a WASM LSP from the Grammar-Kit based parsers I wrote for the Mermaid Studio plugin for IntelliJ, but have no immediate plan for release due to resource constraints.

I'm not aware of any attempts to build an LSP for the full range of mermaid diagrams.

@DavidSeptimus's experiment looks very promising. Real-time diagnostics in VS Code is exactly what Mermaid needs. As far as I know there's no production-ready LSP for the full range of Mermaid diagram types yet, so if you decide to build one it would be a great contribution to the ecosystem.

In the meantime, the upstream implementation is now free to use (not OSS) in the JetBrains ecosystem as part of Mermaid Studio Core. The free version includes basic syntax validation with rich syntax highlighting. Deeper code intelligence (e.g., pinpointing the causes of rendering errors in your diagrams, refactoring, etc.) is part of a paid offering.
