Spoil item if it has been collected

During a run I sometimes reset the emulator to get to my last saved location.
In the meantime I collected a few items and (of course) I do forget what it was.

So, I'd like to see the option, that the item gets marked in the tracker, e.g.

• I go to marthas bay lone bush
• I collect the heart piece
• It gets marked as collected in Magpie
• I reset the emulator and start at my last saved location
• Magpie uncollects the item, but it doesn't show me what it was
  -> I want magpie to show the heart piece icon on that check

Is that easily possible?

Yep, this is pretty easy to do as long as a spoiler log is loaded (which should happen automatically if the emulator you're autotracking with supports reading the ROM or if you've given Magpie the ROM).

There's actually already a feature like this, although it was meant to make manual tracking easier - it automatically spoils a check when you mark it as complete, and adds that item to your inventory. My guess is that if you use this with autotracking, though, you might end up with duplicate items (one from the spoiled item and one that the autotracker read from the game). It's also possible that autotracking bypasses that feature all together, I'll need to test it out.

That only works with a spoillog, doesn't it?
I want it with a normal game as well.
Magpie knows which item is where in the moment it gets collected, right?

Yeah, it wouldn't work with race ROMs.

There actually isn't any direct connection between an item and where it came from - all the autotracker knows is that an item appeared in your inventory. It could guess which check it came from based on timing, but that could be a bit risky. That association also couldn't carry across autotracker sessions (which would only really be an issue if the magpie state also got cleared between sessions).

I'll think about options, though.
