Possible to not use OpenAI/ChatGPT?

I enjoy the vision of this project, but I detest using ChatGPT models. However, I seem unable to avoid the API or login of ChatGPT in the tool. Is there a way to avoid this?

I installed https://github.com/router-for-me/CLIProxyAPI (they do have windows fork https://github.com/Finesssee/ProxyPilot , but I built from source) then in config.yaml for code set
model_provider = "cliproxyapi"
model = "gemini-3-pro-preview"
and below your other configs do

base_url = "http://127.0.0.1:8317/v1"
env_key = "OPENAI_API_KEY"

"OPENAI_API_KEY" - is a variable you set in auth.json, I did that above my creds as

"OPENAI_API_KEY": "APIFROMCLIPPROXYCONFIG",

you can literally set-up any model with that repo, I've seen people using either oauth for gemini or AIStudio api to rotate between accounts.

P.S. I switched to https://github.com/freelanceagent1/gemini-cli-proxy and fixed it up a tad. The previous fork documentation was too unclear due to my language barrier, and I was falling behind in understanding how they do the translations. The config approach in general is the same, but I'm using profiles instead of just changing the global settings. And this fork can rotate gemini oauth accounts if needed.
