Question: DNS cache for many upstreams?

The Lua resolver works fine for a single upstream domain but what if there are a couple of them?
Copy & paste the Lua block for each of them seems ugly. Is there an easy way to use the cache for arbitrary hostnames or at least have it scale to a dozend backends?
