Enhancement: Allow more customization of tracked area.

Currently Jetclock tracks aircraft within a circle of configured radius around the configured location.

Allow the tracked area to be specified anywhere on a map, with different "shape" options, not just a circle. E.g. a polygon described by specification of a number of points on the map. The allowable total area should be as large as possible.

Thanks for the feature request! Am definitely aware of the polygon option. Was wondering if you'd used the field of view filter and if that didn't meet the need?

I guess the reason for not having poly is that the original use case was to have the clock point at an aircraft moving past, hence the focus on a radius + FOV filter.

But wondering if this misses your use case in some way?

My use case is this: I have an unobstructed view out over the Pacific Ocean, where I can see aircraft many, many miles away if they are leaving contrails (typically aircraft flying between Asia and SFO/LAX). SFO is about 50 miles S of me. I want to be notified of aircraft many miles out to the west, but not so far to the south (since I don't want to get hits on every aircraft landing and taking-off at SFO). The field of view option does not accomplish this since the boundary of the tracked area is the same distance in every direction within that field of view, so to get the hits to west, I would also get the unwanted hits to the south (correct me if I'm wrong!). Being able to select and visualize the tracked area via a map is also very helpful.

Just for the record, the FlightWall supports both the radius and polygon methods. I use the polygon method in this case.

Thanks this is really helpful. More granular control of aircraft you see is in the works, just figuring out the best way to implement given people's different requirements (see #107) for detail on this. So your use case is great input.

Currently also working on another request that involves a map display which naturally includes questions about filtering & more options so it's a nice overlap.
