BOM at start of unicode file causes creation of empty paragraph.

If your text editor uses a Byte Order Mark (BOM) at the start of a UTF-8 file, then when it is processed by RHO then it creates an empty paragraph at the start of the created file.

It would be good if the BOM could be ignored.

At the moment we use Notepad++ to remove the BOM.

Not sure if that should be a concern of Rho or whatever text processing utility, b/c it sounds like a preprocessing thing. Try passing your input through strip-bom before compiling it with Rho.

Thanks Boris,

Your suggestion does not work in this case since we are only working in
command line tools. Strip-bom is not setup for command line use.

I'll look for another tool.

As it adds an empty paragraph, I'd still rather you made the input more
robust to handle that. But I appreciate what you have done and respect
your decision to say it is out of scope.

Rho provides so much more flexibility over Markdown. I was all set to
write a conference paper in Rho but then realized they wanted it in Word
not PDF. I imported the work I had done as HTML into Word. I did not
enjoy working in Word.

My only other wish is that you could embed one div in another.
