No `ess-noweb-mode`

Hi!

I read in the ESS documentation that

ESS provides support for writing and processing Sweave (https://leisch.userweb.mwn.de/Sweave/), building up on Emacs’ ess-noweb-mode for literate programming. When working on an Sweave document, the following key bindings are available:

and then

M-n s Run Sweave on the current .Rnw file. If choose is non-‘nil’, offer a menu of available weavers.

After trying the last without success, and M-x ess-swv-weave, finding that command does not appear among ess command, I also tried M-x ess-noweb-mode, also not finding that command. Why this may be happening?

GNU Emacs 29.4 (build 2, x86_64-w64-mingw32) of 2024-07-05
on Windows 11.
ess 20251015.1619 installed Emacs Speaks Statistics.

I have found #894, and I wanted to add that I have also tried polymode with poly-R, but M-n w (polymode-weave) returns

weaving latex with command:

     R CMD Sweave escalas.Rnw --options="output='escalas-woven.tex'"

'R' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

(while I can run R with ESS through M-x R)

You did the right thing: finding out this is a polymode issue, and
that (unfortunately ?) polymode is not part of ESS, neither formally, nor in github space, but it overlaps with ESS "maintainer - wise".

Ok, I have asked there too, but why the specified command in ESS documentation do not work (any of the ess-swv commands appears to be implemented in my setup -at least they do not appear listed by helm)?

That is correct. Technically, polymode provides that support.

This issue appears to be resolved with an issue on the polymode site.

For me is not solved, since the documentation says ESS provides support for doing this, so polymode shouldn't be needed.
