defaults/ao3/ is generated from the OTW "Selective data dump" of 2021-02-26. ~5 years of fandoms/tropes are absent from the master taxonomy — e.g. Baldur's Gate 3, Elden Ring, Honkai: Star Rail — pushing contemporary libraries onto manual overrides/ + the promote workflow.
Mitigated by the override/promote loop, but it's the most user-visible defaults gap: a fresh install won't recognize post-2021 franchises for universe/character folding.
Fix options: re-run build_ao3_layer.py against a newer dump if/when OTW releases one; or document the staleness + a lightweight "add-your-fandom" override recipe prominently.
