Downloading ZIP of repository and extracting fails

Issue description
Downloading this repository as a .zip file and unzipping it in File Explorer fails because of Error 0x80010135: Path too long. OS build: Windows 11 Pro 24H2. My username is not particularly long.

The following documentation instructs the user to do just that as the first method.

Download a ZIP of the repository to your local system. Un-ZIP the compressed archive.

@leiflundberg try cloning it (then you can find it in the folder) - windows has limit of 260 chars path(this repo has long/deep folder)
git handles that easily
