Failed to deploy

It seems this was working a few weeks ago, but something change on DO's side.

When I try to deploy this repo using the CLI I get build errors.

./build.sh: line 5: virtualenv: command not found

There is no documentation on the build.sh files so I have no idea what could go wrong .

Looks like I didnt have virtualenv locally installed. I installed it and it replayed, but fails when running.

Seems it doesn't install the pip packages.

I'm having this issue as well.. with everything trying to deploy to Digital Ocean functions. It always fails because of Virtualenv missing. I have it installed locally.

I had the same issue. I am using pyenv with default python 3.11.
What is important for deployment:

• You need virtualenv installed on your global python, so make sure it is listed under pip list.
• When you create a virtual environment by default it will use your default python's version, so you have to make sure that in the build.sh script the --target of pip install ... actually points to the python version you are using. By default this is virtualenv/lib/python3.9/site-packages, so I had to change it to pip install -r requirements.txt --target virtualenv/lib/python3.11/site-packages

The script will not complain that the python3.9 folder did not exist previously.
What helped me debug this is the --verbose-build flag:
doctl serverless deploy python-jokes --verbose-build.

Maybe it could make sense to save the python version into a variable and use it for the --target parameter.
The following works for me both with local and with --remote-build:
