Git not working; '/home/developer/.gitconfig': Is a directory

Getting an error regarding the .gitconfig whenever I try to use git. I'm unable to pull from repos and have to download the repo and then upload it. Any fix/workaround?

this happens if you do not have a ~/.gitconfig file prior to start on your host. Stop the compose, rmdir your .gitconfig folder on your host machine, then create an empty file (touch ~/.gitconfig).

next time you start your docker compose stack, it will be a file, not a directory.
