Problem GUI and installation

Hi Dan64, I don't know where the comnet2 weights and plugins go. I put them in: "C:\Film-da-colorare-con-HAVC\DiTServerRPC\comfy_bridge\models" and when I start the movie in the GUI it gives me this error. I've attached the log:

I reinstalled everything, I put the comnet2 templates and weights in here: "C:\Film-da-colorare-con-HAVC\DiTServerRPC.venv\Lib\site-packages\vscmnet2" I followed the guide step by step, I start it with: start_server.cmd and then run_colorize_client_GUI.vbs and the error is always this:

It seems a security problem, try to run on windows terminal the following command

C:\Film-da-colorare-con-HAVC\DiTServerRPC\.venv\Lib\site-packages\vapoursynth\vspipe.exe -v

If you see a windows security message you need

Open Windows Security.
Go to Virus & threat protection > Manage settings.
Scroll to Exclusions and click Add or remove exclusions.
Click Add an exclusion > Folder.
Select your entire project folder: C:\Film-da-colorare-con-HAVC\DiTServerRPC\.venv
Try running the command again.

Moreover I see that you have 2 GPUs, run this command to see what is your default GPU

First of all Dan I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the incredible work you have done, for creating a wonderful colorizer, I tried a 5 minute movie and it is really very beautiful, now I have solved it, but I want to tell you the problems I encountered, in windows 11 this file "VC_redist.x64.exe" was missing, dlls were missing in vapoursynth that I had to search one by one, and lastly I used "vapoursynth config", and finally everything started working like a charm, I used AI to try to fix everything and I've been working on it full time for 3 days but in the end it was really worth it, thank you so much Dan.

The installation of tools is described in this section: 5-install-external-tools. More precisely there is this useful section:

Quick setup with Release 1.0.0: the project's Release 1.0.0 includes a tools.zip archive containing x265.exe and mkvmerge.exe. Download it and extract its contents directly into GUI/tools/ so that the default paths match without any additional configuration:

You can also place these tools anywhere — just point the GUI to their paths in the Encode/Merge tab.

In meanwhile I was able to reproduce the problem. In effect starting with R74 the way on how Vapoursynth find himself is not clear. In this case, by changing the vspipe path in this way should work

"C:\Film-da-colorare-con-HAVC\DiTServerRPC\.venv\scripts\vspipe.exe"

Hi Dan, As I said, the program works now, if I understood correctly and if I were to have problems again I should move the "vspipe.exe" and put it in "C:\Film-da-colorare-con-HAVC\DiTServerRPC.venv\scripts", is this correct?

actually you don't have to move "vspipe.exe". When vapoursynth is installed a copy is installed also in the python folder, in this case: .venv\scripts. Theoretically "vspipe.exe" should be able to find python even if is executed from .venv\Lib\site-packages\vapoursynth, but in the case is not able to find it, the solution is to run the copy in .venv\scripts, because in this folder is located also python.

P.S.
the vspipe.exe in .venv\scripts is not the same of one in .venv\Lib\site-packages\vapoursynth, it is a wrapper that allows to launch vspipe.exe in .venv\Lib\site-packages\vapoursynth with the correct python env
