Will this work for Chef Local Mode?

Hi - we host our cookbooks in BitBucket and build organization repos using local mode (Chef Zero / Solo).

Is chefdoc going to work for us?

Hmm not directly, but with minimart [1] it should be possible. Chefdoc uses Berkshelfs 'universe' [2] endpoint to fetch cookbooks. This allows specifying different versions of the cookbooks etc. which would be problematic in git (everyone tags and releases differently). Minimart could create that endpoint for you from git and you could then point chefdoc to the minimart endpoint. However, I have never tested this but would be very glad about feedback if this works.
