Memory shortage when searching on Linux #1360

Description

@daigriffiths

Describe the bug :

I get a message from the kernal saying:

Memory Shortage Avoided
The background service app-\x2fhome\x2fdai\x2fQualcoder\x2fQualCoder_3_8_2_ubuntu@bbcc7315e79d42fe9efdbd058e2018ef.service has been terminated by the Linux kernel because the system is low on memory. Consider closing unused applications or browser tabs.

To Reproduce :
When I search for a text in a document which I am coding, the search function works fine. When I delete the search string letter by letter the number shown in the hits counter increases. When I am down to one or two letters, Qualcoder crashes and I get a "Memory Shortage Avoided" message. If I select the whole search string and delete it, Qualcoder again crashes. Sometimes the whole computer crashes, and I need to restart.

Expected behavior :

I expected to be able to delete the search string letter by letter, and to then type in a new search string.
