Feature Description

Feature Request: Inherit tags, contexts, and priority from parent task when creating subtasks

When creating a subtask via "Create subtask" from a task's context menu, it would be helpful if the new subtask automatically inherited selected metadata from the parent task.

Desired behavior
When a subtask is created from a parent task, the following fields should optionally be pre-filled from the parent:

  • Tags
  • Contexts
  • Priority
  • (optionally) Status

This behavior should ideally be configurable — either as a global toggle in settings, or as a per-field opt-in.

Current behavior
Only the project link is automatically set when creating a subtask. All other fields start empty and must be filled in manually.

Why this matters
In practice, subtasks usually belong to the same domain as their parent (same project context, same team, same priority class). Having to re-enter tags and contexts for every subtask adds friction and makes it easy to forget metadata, which then breaks filters and views.
