Homepage meta description is 207 chars against check-seo's 160 warn threshold #278

Description

@bdelanghe

The finding

The homepage <meta name="description"> is 207 characters. check-seo warns at 160.

It also differs from the brand core description token — and that difference looks deliberate, not accidental.

Why this is a decision, not a bug

Two ways to resolve it, and they are not equivalent:

  1. Shorten the homepage description to fit the threshold, leaving it distinct from the brand token.
  2. Align it with the brand core token, which is a brand-repo wording decision, not a strings.json coverage gap.

The burn-down that found this explicitly declined to pick — it's a copy decision with an owner, and the tooling can't make it.

Not a strings.json issue

Worth stating plainly since it was found next to #40: this is not a string-extraction gap. The value resolves fine; it's the wording and length that are in question.

Provenance

Found by the 2026-09-03 Desk burn-down, which had no GitHub credentials and filed nothing itself.
