LOAD"*",8 or DLOAD"*" makes the device hang

Initiating a command
LOAD"*",8 or DLOAD"*" or pressing Shift + Run/Stop seems to start a load process that actually never comes to finish.

Using LOAD"W*",8 resp. DLOAD"W*" is working as expected loading the first program starting with "W".

I tried the same SD card in an SD2PET Future device and Shift + Run/Stop loads and runs the DOS Wedge as expected (it being the first file I ever copied to the SD card).

Confirmed on V1 and V2 hardware. The screen displays:

dL"*

searching for 0:*
loading

And then hangs. Typing dL"w* works as expected.

Thank you for the report, can you provide specs on the sd card and description of what files are on the card? Basically the process followed in advance of the issue so I can attempt to reproduce this. Will look into this shortly. Thanks

I can only speak for myself. I'm using the disk image that was provided with my SD2PET from TFW8B with tons of software on it.
However, I made sure to put the WEDGE on a clean SD card alone at first an then copy all the rest of the files.
I just tried it again and still the same outcome as in my initial post.
Loading the Wedge with Shift+Run/Stop is working fine loading the wedge using the SD2PET, but hangs on the petdisk-max (see my initial post).

@bitfixer - NP... And no hurry from my side. I've been happily using the PET DiskMax for years.

I've tried a few variations and the repro has been consistent across all of them:

Different hardware revisions:

• V1 Firmware: 41090ba
• V2 Firmware: 2479b4c

Different SD cards:

• Raspberry Pi 32GB microSD A2 U3 (Mouser #: 358-SC1628)
• SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSD A1 U1
• PNY Elite 32GB microSD U1

Different modes:

• Run/Stop after power on (expected to load first file from FAT32 sdcard)
• Run/Stop after mounting D64 image (load"$:petgfx.d64",8 then R/S)

('petgfx.d64' is the registered version of Attack of the PETSCII Robots.)

Different contents:

• FAT32 formatted SD card with no contents
• FAT32 formatted SD card with just wedge.prg
• FAT32 formatted SD with lots of .prgs and .d64s and a PETDISK.CFG

The contents of the PETDISK.CFG are:
