Problem to solve
When the sidebar is collapsed in the DimCode Desktop App, there is no visible UI element (button) to create a new conversation or thread. Users must expand the sidebar first to start a new conversation, which breaks the flow especially when working in a focused, minimal-UI mode.
Additionally, there is no dedicated keyboard shortcut for creating a new conversation/thread, making the process even less accessible when the sidebar is hidden.
Desired experience

Clickable button: When the sidebar is collapsed, display a small "New Conversation" button (e.g. a + icon) in the top toolbar or header area of the app, so users can start a new thread with a single mouse click without expanding the sidebar.

Keyboard shortcut: Add a dedicated keyboard shortcut (e.g. Ctrl+N / Cmd+N) to create a new conversation/thread, regardless of whether the sidebar is expanded or collapsed.
Having both a visual button and a keyboard shortcut ensures accessibility for both mouse-oriented and keyboard-oriented workflows.
Current workaround
- Expand the sidebar, then click the "New Conversation" button, then optionally collapse the sidebar again.
- This is tedious and disrupts the focused working state.
