Logo proposal: Classic D or Keyboard D?

Hi everyone,

I made two draft logos for Apache Asyncband and would like your feedback.

Option A — Classic D

Option B — Keyboard D

The two versions are the same except for the final D. Option A keeps it simple. Option B adds keyboard keys.

The B includes a bass drum, with a drumstick and a bass-guitar neck behind it. The wordmark idea was inspired by the futures-rs logo, while the music elements were designed for Asyncband.

This is only a community proposal, not an official logo.

Which version do you prefer? Does the design fit Asyncband? What would you change or simplify?

If the community likes it, we can improve the design and discuss whether it could become the official logo, following Apache branding rules.

I'm fine with ASF oak leaf. But if people want a new logo, I'm glad to see it happen.

To keep the logo concise, if you ask me to choose between the two above, I'd prefer "Classic D".

But it generally looks a bit long and less focused.

I’d go with Option A which is Classic D. It feels cleaner and more balanced, and the drum and instruments around the “B” already communicate the “Band” idea well. Adding keyboard keys to the “D” makes it a bit too busy, especially at smaller sizes.
