I suppose you should start with describing how to reproduce your issue from scratch.

Another good way is to just complete the tutorial and then change it to your particular example step by step and try to capture at which step it breaks.

Right now I can say your setup loooks quite odd. Validity Polling data source is meant for direct device polling only, not for git, so you have to define Poller and Command (they are empty on your screenshot) and it's better not to touch device_config_path (or device_command_path) for that particular data source. Perhaps this is not the reason you get the unexpected result, but worth mentioning anyway.
