How to get cert+chain withour root certificate

Hi, I'm using fullchain certificates, but some apps are throwing error, because it contains self-signed (= root) certificate. Is there a way to get certificate + chain but without root certificate, without manually editing files? Certificate CA is Digicert.
Full chain structure:

1. domain cert
2. intermediate cert
3. root cert - don't want this
