Please consider adding release version and OS compatibility of the driver

• Please consider adding release version for the driver.

  • As of now, when I come back after a period of time, it's time consuming to figure out what are the changes from the driver code that I have.

• Please consider adding operating system (OS) compatibility.

  • I recently upgrade from Ubuntu 22.04 to Ubuntu 24.04 and I don't know if I need to upgrade the driver code.

For OS compatibility our goal is always "as wide as possible". Ubuntu is as close to an official distro as we have, but we try to make it possible to build on just about anything.

For release versions and tags, I don't see how that would fit for us. Generally the advice is going to be stick with what you have if it is working and try the latest if you're having an issue.
