As a discussion point it is not alive, truth be told I forgot about it. But there has been work:

• NI FPGA interface for rust: https://github.com/WiresmithTech/ni-fpga-interface
• DAQmx (very early days, need to revisit the design): https://github.com/WiresmithTech/daqmx-rs
• System Configuration API (partial): https://github.com/WiresmithTech/ni-syscfg-rs

There is also a basic example at https://github.com/JamesMc86/Rust-From-LabVIEW but it pre-dates the interop crate which helps with most of what it is doing.

Hopefully I will get to a point where I can contribute somehow.
