Precedence (highest to lowest):
- Parentheses (when supported)
- Multiplication, Division, Modulo (left to right)
- Addition, Subtraction (left to right)
- Comparison (is, greater than, etc.)
- Logical NOT
- Logical AND
- Logical OR
Examples:
2 plus 3 times 4 // 14 (not 20)
// = 2 + (3 * 4) = 2 + 12 = 14
10 minus 2 times 3 // 4 (not 24)
// = 10 - (2 * 3) = 10 - 6 = 4
Best practice: Use intermediate variables for clarity:
store step1 as 3 times 4 // 12
store result as 2 plus step1 // 14
All operators are left-to-right:
10 minus 5 minus 2 // 3
