Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
I expect the system to remain asleep until I manually wake it and then resume normally.
Instead, after being asleep for an unknown amount of time (usually several hours or overnight), the system appears to wake on its own. When I check it, the fans are running and the display is corrupted with a pixelated, rainbow-colored pattern. The system is completely frozen and unresponsive. The keyboard and mouse do not work, and the only way to recover is to hold the power button to force a shutdown.
This issue has happened multiple times after leaving the system asleep overnight. I have not determined what causes the system to wake on its own.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
- Boot into SteamOS.
- Put the system into Sleep mode.
- Leave the system asleep for several hours (e.g. overnight).
- The system may wake on its own and become frozen with a pixelated, rainbow-colored display, requiring a hard shutdown.
