Summary

SteamCleaner includes Linux support across multiple distributions and Steam installation methods. The application also scans non-Steam clients installed through Wine, Proton, Bottles, and Lutris. Assistance is needed to validate detection and scanning across these configurations.

• Application launches and renders correctly
• System theme detection (dark/light) functions as expected
• Scan completes without errors
• Deletion moves files to system Trash
• No false positives (legitimate game files are not flagged)

How to participate

1. Get SteamCleaner - either:
   • Download the latest build for your platform from Releases (SteamCleaner-linux.tar.xz), extract, and run, or
   • Build from source: uv sync && uv run steamcleaner
2. Enable logging: Settings (gear icon) → toggle "Enable logging"
3. Run a scan with at least one game client installed
4. Report findings in this thread: distribution, Steam installation method, detected clients, scan results, any errors or unexpected behavior. Screenshots are appreciated.
5. If you encounter any issues, attach the log file from ~/.config/steamcleaner/logs/

Wine prefix discovery and non-Steam client detection through compatibility layers are of particular interest.
