Summary

SteamCleaner includes macOS support (Apple Silicon and Intel), but the platform has not been validated on real hardware. Assistance is needed to verify functionality and identify platform-specific issues.

Scope

Application behavior

• Application launches and renders correctly
• System theme detection (dark/light) functions as expected
• Scan completes without errors
• Deletion moves files to system Trash
• No false positives (legitimate game files are not flagged)

Client detection

• Steam (~/Library/Application Support/Steam)
• Epic Games (~/Library/Application Support/Epic)
• GOG Galaxy (~/Library/Application Support/GOG.com)

Target hardware

• Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4)
• Intel-based Mac

How to participate

1. Get SteamCleaner - either:
   • Download the latest build for your platform from Releases (SteamCleaner-macos.tar.xz), extract, and run, or
   • Build from source: uv sync && uv run steamcleaner
2. Enable logging: Settings (gear icon) → toggle "Enable logging"
3. Run a scan with at least one game client installed
4. Report findings in this thread: detected clients, scan results, any errors or unexpected behavior. Screenshots are appreciated.
5. If you encounter any issues, attach the log file from ~/.config/steamcleaner/logs/
