Slotted channel access would solve the hidden station problem which can happen particularly in asymmetric HF links. The drawback is that all stationsm ust have a NTP or GPS synced time, same requirement as software like WSJT-X.

The two would be configurable either by the user or as an opt-in (alongside BER gearshifting) channel sensing feature.
