In app updater does not work does not install the last 4 to 5 versions of the app the in app updater does not install the next version. Had to do a manual update each time. The next versions downloads a pop comes up but does not auto install. Video provided of issue that started since version 1.9.3 update

Fixed and will ship in v1.9.8. Same root cause as #116 and #75.

What was wrong

PR #95 attempted a fix but left a gap: the PackageInstaller session callback was sent to a broadcast action that had no registered receiver, so the system "Install?" confirmation screen was never launched. The updater downloaded the APK successfully, then got stuck waiting for a callback no code listened to.

The fix

Landed in #123 (merged to main). Adds the missing ApkInstallReceiver that:

• Launches the system confirmation Activity on STATUS_PENDING_USER_ACTION
• Surfaces every STATUS_FAILURE_* value as a user-visible toast
• Has a try/catch fallback for forks whose installer rejects the standard intent

Testing

Please verify on v1.9.8 when it releases. If the updater still fails on your device after 1.9.8, please open a new issue with your device model, Android version, and adb logcat -s ApkInstaller ApkInstallReceiver output.
