Description

When playing a movie or TV show in ARVIO and attempting to use external subtitle addons (specifically Israeli Stremio-compatible subtitle providers), the app fails to recognize or load the subtitles. No subtitles are shown even though the addons are properly configured.

This is a critical issue for Israeli users who rely on Hebrew subtitle services.

1. Open ARVIO on Android TV
2. Add one of the subtitle addons listed above (Wizdom or Ktuvit)

4. Navigate to the subtitle selection menu
5. Observe that no external subtitles are detected/loaded from these addons

Additional Context

Wizdom and Ktuvit are the primary Hebrew subtitle services used by Israeli users. Both are implemented as standard Stremio subtitle addons. Without support for these external subtitle providers, ARVIO is essentially unusable for the Israeli audience.

Please investigate why ARVIO does not query or display subtitles from external Stremio subtitle addons during playback.

Fixed and will ship in v1.9.8.

What was wrong

Two sequential bugs:

1. StreamRepository.addCustomAddon hardcoded type = AddonType.CUSTOM for every user-added addon, regardless of what the manifest declared. So a pure-subtitle addon (manifest resources: ["subtitles"]) ended up in the same bucket as a stream addon.
2. fetchSubtitlesForSelectedStream then filtered strictly on type == AddonType.SUBTITLE, which only matched the built-in OpenSubtitles. CUSTOM-typed subtitle addons were never queried.

Wizdom and Ktuvit were installed, toggled on, and completely ignored during playback.

The fix

Landed in #127 (merged to main):

• addCustomAddon now inspects the parsed manifest's resources. If it declares subtitles but not stream, it gets AddonType.SUBTITLE; otherwise it stays CUSTOM.
• fetchSubtitlesForSelectedStream also includes CUSTOM-typed addons whose manifest declares a subtitles resource — so users who already installed Wizdom/Ktuvit before this fix landed will benefit immediately without needing to reinstall.

Testing

Please verify on v1.9.8:

1. Make sure Wizdom (https://4b139a4b7f94-wizdom-stremio-v2.baby-beamup.club/) and/or Ktuvit (https://4b139a4b7f94-ktuvit-stremio.baby-beamup.club/) are enabled in Settings → Addons.
2. Play any movie or TV episode.
3. Open the subtitle menu in the player.
4. Confirm Hebrew subtitles from Wizdom/Ktuvit appear in the subtitle list.

If subtitles still don't load after 1.9.8, please open a new issue with:

• Which addon (Wizdom or Ktuvit)
• The content you're trying to play (movie name + year, or show name + S/E)
• logcat output from the player startup (adb logcat -s StreamRepository PlayerViewModel)
