Incompatible Mod: Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Production

What the mod does: Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Production essentially expands upon the vanilla workstations, giving them numerous little efficiency buildings to attach to, as well as Large versions of them. As of consequence, it alters the Fabrication Bench and the Machining Table.

Expected Behavior: Asimov should still read the Fabrication Bench and the Machining Table (as well as their Large variants) of Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Production, letting it construct Chargepacks.

What happens: Despite Asimov, Tabula Rasa, Vanilla Expanded Framework, and Mechadroids being installed. Chargepacks do not show up on the Fabrication Bench and the Machining Table of Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Production.

Note: I even swapped the load order of Mechadroids and Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Production. Still did not work.

Got lucky I was checking through issues on this today otherwise it could have been weeks before I seen it, I only get notifications on issues using the bug report template.

Try loading Asimov before Vanilla Expanded Framework, might fix it. It's working fully on my end doing that (only on the original benches if loaded after), however I've got some WIP stuff that may have coincidentally fixed it so let me know if it does or not. Either way it'll be fixed after the next update, and I'll throw in the loadBefore tag for VEF so it's noted in the mod manager.

Huh, so it is a load order problem out of all things. Having the loadBefore tag for VEF is a deffo must if it is working now like this.

But as a manual solution, it definitely works.

Even in my main modlist (over 400+ mods), as long as Asimov is before Vanilla Expanded Framework, then the Craft Chargepack, Recharge Chargepacks (Bulk), and Recharge Chargepack options are now present in the Machining Table, Fabrication Bench, and Large Machining Table.

But cheers, the crafting benches recognize the Bills now.

Yeah it's because VEF triggers the caching of the recipes, while doing the recipe inheritance (it's what lets the bigger benches pull all the recipes from smaller ones without doing it all manually). If that's done before Asimov injects the recipes when needed, which it does in order that the mods are loaded, then even if I recache the recipes (which I do in the latest WIP build anyway) then they still wouldn't be transferred to the other benches.

Glad someone finally spent the time to narrow it down in their list, had a few people mention having the problem before but the best they did was narrow it down to the 400-500+ mods they had and I just give up at that point, don't have the time to sub to whole lists and match up load order to find issues. Even cross referencing the lists they had like half of the same mods. So thanks for taking the time to find it!

Hah, yeah I understand that kind of frustration. I studied Computer Engineering and Information Technology, so I know my way around programming. (Not too familiar with Rimworld mod's file structures since I only just recently bought Rimworld)

But I know just how frustrating it is to not have as much information as possible. Especially CLEAR information. Plus I try not to make it inconvenient, so I try to do as much bug testing on my end as possible. Mainly to try and isolate shit so it can be as readable as possible.

But yeah, if VEF triggers the caching first. Then yeah it would definitely ignore any future injections, so Asimov may either need to be loaded always before VEF, or you may have to do some higgledy piggledy with your own code.
