Find the trustworthy Task cleanup lifecycle

Destination

An accepted Task cleanup specification that lets users deliberately remove Tasks they no longer need from primary Task Navigation, preserves that navigation intent across local retention and Native Session rediscovery, and leaves the production implementation unambiguous.

Notes

Domain: Task Navigation, Archive, local Task retention, and Agent-owned Native Sessions.

Every decision session should consult the grilling and domain-modeling skills. UI decisions should use impeccable and openaide-prototype. Production behavior changes must use TDD at the agreed App Server protocol and Frontend interaction seams.

Standing evidence:

• Task Navigation currently presents at most 20 rows for one Project, 10 each for two Projects, and 7 each for three or more before Load More.
• Archive currently changes one Task at a time.
• Accepted retention is seven unused days, while production and tests currently enforce three days.
• Local retention deletes OpenAIDE Task data but not the Agent-owned Native Session, which can later reappear in primary Tasks.
• Explicit Archive intent and physical data retention are separate product concerns.

Wayfinder is planning by default. Production implementation begins only after the map has no unresolved decisions.

• Exact bulk mutation, preview, concurrency, and partial-result semantics after the selection and protection models are chosen.
• Confirmation, completion, undo, and failure presentation after the eligible set is defined.
• Migration behavior for Native Sessions previously bound to Archived Tasks.
• Production diagnostics and correlation requirements for a cross-Task lifecycle operation.
• Final implementation and verification plan after all product decisions close.

Out of scope

• Deleting Agent-owned Native Sessions as part of ordinary Archive.
• A general redesign of Task search, Project grouping, or Task Navigation.
• Automatic lifecycle changes beyond reconciling the already accepted local retention behavior.
