The merging functionality should likely be exposed as its own window outside of the component- likely also while removing the "Compile Controllers" button on the component.
This tool is being misrepresented as a porting utility to new creators just starting out. The tool was never intended for that particular purpose and the output generated by the tool was never meant to be modified after generation by the user.
The primary reason for pushing this tool onto new users seems to just be for the controller merging functionality, as it is "easier to fix the merged controller" vs each individually, which is why the merging functionality should be exposed separately- as the component, when left in scene by a new user after being guided to use it purely for the merging functionality, will auto-merge & replace their target controller on upload.
