For a Commercial case, the OpenEI Utility Rate Database window does not list rates classified in the URDB as Sector = Industrial.
In SAM, it is appropriate to use the Commercial financial model for a behind-the-meter system for an industrial building or facility.
For example, the Madison Gas and Electric Cg-2 and Cg-4 rates are both described as "Commercial and Industrial" rates, but for the Sector field, the URDB assigns "Industrial" to Cg-2 and "Commercial" to Cg-4.
Cg-2: https://apps.openei.org/IURDB/rate/view/648732db415f0823850590ba
Cg-4: https://apps.openei.org/IURDB/rate/view/648732db415f0823850590ba
The result is that in SAM, the Cg-2 rate is not listed for a commercial case:
A workaround is to choose All to show the Cg-2 rate:
To Reproduce
- Create a Commercial case.
- On the Electricity Rates page, click Search for rates.
- Filter the list of utilities for "MGE".
- Note the list of available rates does not include Cg-2.
