What problem does this solve?

It is frustrating that the plugin version number and the wider core version numbers do not align.

This adds a layer of confusion to install and updates that doesn't feel necessary.

Proposed solution

When the wider core reaches v3.0 update the plugin to v3.0 too.

The roku client (v1.5.1) and the smart-tv client (v2.8.2) are also not on the same version as moonfin-core or the plugin. If an update doesnt feel necessary, dont update. there are no plans for a v3 anytime soon.
