Redfish Service Validator v3.1.5 hangs while validating /redfish/v1/Oem/Ami/Configurations, while v2.5.1 completes successfully

• Redfish Service Validator: v3.1.5
• Ubuntu 22.04

Description

When running Redfish Service Validator v3.1.5 against our BMC, the validator hangs during validation and never completes.

The last output is:

Validating /redfish/v1/Managers...
 - Pass: 9, Warn: 0, Fail: 0, Skip: 2
Validating /redfish/v1/Oem/Ami/Configurations...

The validator remains running indefinitely after this point. The same Redfish service completes successfully when using Redfish Service Validator v2.5.1.

The debug log and screenshot did not appear to be attached. Can you provide them again? Please also rerun with --debugging to capture additional traces when accessing the URI.

Are you able to access the URI with other tools like curl?

I also verified that /redfish/v1/Oem/Ami/Configurations is accessible using Postman. The request completes successfully and returns the expected response, so the endpoint itself appears to be working normally.

There's a schema issue with the OEM extension. It's creating an infinite loop when trying to trace the type tree of the resource.

Here's the file, and I've annotated where the issue is. Essentially the base "AMIConfigurations" EntityType is pointing to itself rather than Resource.v1_0_0.Resource. I should be able to use this file to see how to add failsafe logic or other checks to break out of infinite lookup loops.

@tatai-sys in the meantime, please raise this with your system vendor; while we can fix the tool to not simply hang in this case, the OEM schema file requires correction.
