Components has no stable pass-through slot contract for unstyled rendering #122

Description

@woksin

Problem / motivation

This issue promotes a previously recorded upstream item from a production Cratis consumer. The complete evidence, proposed seam and limits follow.

Status: Open upstream improvement · filing in progress 2026-08-10
Product: Components / PrimeReact integration
Class: Styling compatibility seam

Gap and Ada cost

Ada renders PrimeReact unstyled through a pass-through preset keyed by data-pc-section and data-p-* slots.
Neither Components nor PrimeReact gives the consumer a stable slot compatibility contract, so an ordinary upgrade
can silently leave a widget bare while build, lint and component specs stay green. Ada must run a manual visual
sweep across Button, Dialog, DataTable/paginator/menubar, Dropdown, Calendar, Checkbox and Toast at three
breakpoints on every relevant release.

Requested seam

Publish/version the slot contract Components relies on and provide a machine-readable compatibility check or
rendered contract suite consumers can run against an unstyled preset. Announce slot changes as compatibility work.

Honest limits

Ada has paid repeated manual verification cost but has not recorded a shipped production regression from a slot
rename. The request is a stable verification surface, not ownership of Ada's theme.
