Allow unranked participation by alumni and non-students #97

Description

@caudri-loki

Background

The organization agreed in principle that alumni and other non-students should be able to participate even when they no longer meet the normal student eligibility requirement. This participation should remain outside the official ranking, and active student teams must have priority when event capacity or time is limited.

Agreed direction

  • allow alumni and non-students to participate;
  • classify their participation as unranked;
  • prioritize active student teams when capacity is constrained.

Decisions required

  • define whether alumni participate as separate teams, as members of existing teams, or both;
  • define which safety and technical requirements remain identical;
  • define access to qualifying, practice, and scored-course time;
  • define how unranked results appear in the dashboard and public results;
  • define the capacity and prioritization rule.

Acceptance criteria

  • Eligibility for alumni and non-students is explicit.
  • Unranked participation is clearly separated from the official ranking.
  • Student-team priority is documented.
  • Safety, technical inspection, and qualification requirements are defined.
  • Result publication and scheduling behavior are defined.

Related but not duplicate: #56 — Prerequisites for Attending clarified team versus student prerequisites but did not introduce unranked alumni participation.
