Some personal observations:

It looks there is no "official" backing for this project for the time being.

I see 2 paths forward for this project. Either it is forked or someone demonstrates capability & bandwidth to take this project forward.

Since @bcardarella has been doing a phenomenal job of backing several Elixir projects over a sustained period of time, but not seeing great community adoption yet, I personally think that we should fork this, demonstrate our capability and then sometime later (after achieving better results) bring it back into main so that he is not overburdened with managing this yet.

I also think it is less of a technology issue and more of a marketing issue. The next lead developer might have to keep that in mind.

Right now we're spread to thin to devote any significant resources to beacon.
We still use it internally and may work on it occasionally but it's not going to see the level of dedication we had before for now.

As @cibernox said, if there are specific needs please let us know and we can weigh the implementation costs
