Describe the bug
The installer sheds an error message

To Reproduce
1 I used a Dell XPS 17 9710 with different Disks (internal and external).
2 Booted up with a fresh made USB stick of the Aeon system with the tic installer. The system starts and is usable.
3. Upon starting the installer an error requester shows up 2 or 3 seconds after initiating by mouse click in the GUI: systend-repart ... (see screen fotos).

I followed your recommendation and, indeed, the installation went further on. However, it stopped again with the following requester (see photo, text: Command /usr/sbin/blockdev --rereadpt /dev/disk/by-id/ata-SSK_SD300_256GB_SSKSD300000000000084 FAILD). I tried installing onto a external USB-connected SSD thumb drive 250GB from SSK.

I don't know how TPM and encryption works for external SSDs, maybe it's not supported? The installer should format the drive, but sometimes it fails, have you tried, again, from the live environment, using Gnome Disks, to format the USB drive. If nothing works, we should wait for @sysrich to check on the issue

External SSD's are likely to be too slow..and these are the symptoms I'd expect for a storage device that's too slow

for your comments. However I disagree. It's an USB 3 connected SSD. If that's too slow what is happening with HDDs? Here is a benchmark:

And I'm sorry but the two internal drives you can see in the screen shot I cannot use. Last time I tried your installer it simply took the entire drive without even asking about the other systems on that disk. However, I need my other systems going and cannot sacrifice them to be replaced by Aeon. I would very much appreciate an option to keep them and install Aeon onto the free space (which was last time some 500GiB) of that internal disk.

You know, now that I think of, I had both your same issues when trying to install on a ThinkPad and HP ProBook. The ThinkPad installed fine, the HP (with the same usb drive) it failed, first with the fstab.repart file, and then your same exact second issue. I fixed by recreating the usb with dd, but I had to do it like 3 times. It's definitely not your issue, but rather a tik one.

It was both on internal nvmes, but your external one's plenty fast, matching sata 3 speeds.

Last I can say is trying different programs to flash the usb. DD or Impression. BalenaEtcher also worked for me. Fedora Media Writer did not.

Unfortunately, Aeon hogs the whole disk, and don't allow for dual boot. The tik installer is honestly one of the worst installation experiences I had to date, even worse than Agama

Tik surprised me, too, as it got functionality cut. When I used it roughly half a year ago it still showed beforehand what it would do to the target drive. Now I'm not risking to present my drive to tik as my drive holds multiple other OS systems.

@sysrich could you please comment on this? Is my recollection correct and some functionality got cut out of tik or is it a different installer entirely now?

could you please answer my question. Is tik capable of installing Aeon side-by-side to another OS on an internal drive? Then I would not need to use an external SSD, which resulted in the the above error.
