Context

I am a contributor to bitcoin.org and I am currently working on a complete audit of the Wallets section. As of April 2026, we are updating the directory to remove discontinued products, fix outdated information, and introduce a dedicated Lightning Network category.

Why Phoenix?

Phoenix (by ACINQ) is widely regarded as the gold standard for a seamless, non-custodial Lightning experience. Its technical robustness is exactly what we want to highlight in the 2026 update.

The Proposal

We would like to invite the Phoenix team to participate in the listing process. Bitcoin.org remains the most historical and trusted entry point for new users, and having a reputable, non-custodial Lightning wallet like yours is vital for the ecosystem's growth.

Main Tracking Issue: Bitcoin.org Issue #4662

Requirements for Listing

To be listed, the wallet must comply with the site's strict standards:

  • Non-custodial: Users must have full control of their keys.
  • Open Source: Accessible and verifiable codebase.
  • Privacy: Clear documentation on how user data and node connections are handled.

Next Steps

If you are interested, please join the discussion on the Bitcoin.org repository. I am working together with @crwatkins to streamline these additions and ensure the 2026 update reflects the best tools available.

Best regards,
Davi de Jesus - @devdavidejesus
