As you toggle backwards in our date selector, the forecasts you see displayed are vintaged by nature, but the ground truth data that is displayed is backfilled. I.e., every time the site builds, we update our ground truth data to be the latest as_of value available from that build, so the gt data displayed with forecasts is not vintaged to when those forecasts were made.
Joseph has spoken some about wanting vintaged gt data on our plots, not sure if this is a setting users can toggle on/off, if we always want this displayed, what the best way to store this is, etc. I think if we want to store multiple weeks/years of gt data we will need paid object storage (S3..etc.)
